I promised Max...

I promised my wife soon after Max died that some day, I would save another dogs life. Well, I didn't think it would be this soon but...

This is Buddy. Buddy came to us from a kill shelter in Virginia by way of South Orange New Jersey. A wonderful organization, the Jersey Animal Coalition, saved him from certain death and put him up for adoption. After a search on the internet and one picture of him we decided to go see what he was like even though it was a 4 hour drive to get there. You see, my wife just knew that there was a wonderful sole behind a pair of sad eyes and we owed it to him to make the trip. We packed up Mille and went on our way.

When we got there we were guided out back to a huge play area. There were several puppies including Buddy out back. He was a happy go lucky boy playing with all the puppies in the shelter but very afraid of people. In order to get him close, we bribed him with hot dogs. He soon was eating from our hands and giving Mille a good sniff. It took all of 30 seconds and Phyllis said "We have to take him." and needless to say, we brought him home.

This is a recent photo of Buddy in our yard. He likes the wood pile. He thinks it's his very own chew stick pile, and if he wants it to be, then it is.

The story of Buddy is still unfolding, we are very happy he decided to join us and we can't wait to see what happens next.
