Why I am always behind the camera

I had to put the dogs in my self portrait to soften it up a bit....besides, I am my dogs my dogs are me.

I have let the Mrs. know it was out on the site so she can see it... I have one without me in it and that will most likely be the one that goes by the bedside :-)>

Hey there Rob, I already posted, but wanted to answer your question about the whereabouts of the picture on my blog!!1 UNFORTUNATELY it isn't my back yard - it's in a mountain range about 4 hours drive from my house - a really spectacular place called the Drakensburg. A definite place to visit if you're ever down south! :)

@MaryB: Thank you MB, you and all these folks are too kind. Like I said, they soften it up a bit ;-). You don't know how hard it is taking my photo, yuk!
I am not a religious man but I am very spiritual so maybe it shows through in this portrait because of my spiritual connection with my dogs... or, you are really only looking at the dogs and I am background noise in the capture :-0

Great black and white portrait. Theres something just nice and raw about this. Maybe because it feels like this photo was taken in such a way it makes me think of a log cabin and your out enjoying nature.
The contrast of the white dog is wonderful against all the darker tones of your photo. Lovely to meet you - cheers from rabbit the potter!

@Rabbit: Thanks Rabbit. I live in the burbs but my house IS like a cabin in the woods by design. I was enjoying nature... birds singing, sun shining, breeze rustling the leaves... wonderful sunrise.
It was about 6:30AM this morning and the sun was just starting to come out after an overnight rain so the lighting for just a few moments was difficult but kind of dramatic.
Can't wait to see the pinhole results and very nice to meet you.

Awww you have a very very cute dog. :) This is an amazing shot. You look very majestic and kind. Perhaps those two adjectives don't really mix well, but that's what came to mind when I first saw it. Haha.
