What you need to do is go to Home Depot. Purchase the 8# khaki dropcloths from the paint dept. Bring them home and wash them using lots of fabric softener and use them to cover your sofa. The weight of the dropcloth combined with the fabric softener will protect your furniture and if he has been up their once, he will be up there again (Whether you know it or not -- unless you totally restrict him from that room). She usually throws herself expectantly on her back next to me for a belly rub, and that too cheers me up. Her too.

Enjoy your class with Buddy. Our Dini just completed a six week Obedience 1 class. Our main goal was to help her get socialized and less afraid around new people and situations. The instructors were very happy with her progress, as were my wife and me. She's a great dog, as I know your Buddy and Mille are.
